Australian visa
Conference participants who are not Australian citizens or permanent residents will need a visa to enter
Australia. New Zealand passport holders do not need to apply in advance but must obtain a Special Category
Visa (subclass 444) on arrival using a valid passport. It is recommended to apply through an Australian
Embassy, Consulate, or the online system at least three months before travel. Most attendees should apply
for a Visitor Visa (subclass 600). An invitation letter may be required depending on the purpose of visit.
Required Documents for Australian Visa Application
A passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended period of stay in Australia;
A completed Australian visa application form, filled out clearly with truthful and complete information, and
signed by the applicant;
One recent passport-sized photograph that meets Australia's strict photo specifications;
Proof of sufficient financial means to cover your stay, such as bank statements, proof of employment and
income, or tax records;
Travel itinerary, including flight bookings and accommodation reservations;
Additional documents based on the purpose of your visit;
Any other materials requested by the visa officer or the online processing centre.
For the most accurate and up-to-date information, please contact your local Australian Embassy or Consulate,
or visit the official website of the Australian Department of Home Affairs.
Invitation Letters
An official invitation letter will be issued after successful registration for the conference.
Your name must appear exactly as it does on your passport. Any discrepancy may result in delays or denial of
your visa.
Please note that the conference organisers (WCISP Conferences and the committee) are not authorised to
assist with the visa process beyond providing the invitation letter. The organisers cannot influence the
decisions of the Australian Department of Home Affairs, correspond with embassies on behalf of applicants,
or provide refunds if a visa is denied.
Visa processing times vary significantly depending on the type of application, individual circumstances, and
application volumes. Applicants are urged to register early and check current processing times on the
official Australian government website.
